Krete Kendall Miller/Gift of/Class of 1931. IAS files contain a copy of the Brookings Daily Register (Brookings, SD), Feb. 26, 1987; an unidentified newspaper article discussing the legend of Tetonkaha, a letter of correspondence with a conservator, a museum cataloging sheet, and a press release, all from the South Dakota Art Museum files. Sculpture was removed from its site for restoration work in 1985. Vandals had tipped the statue off its concrete base, causing the head to be broken off and the body to break at the knees. Sculpture was restored and returned to the Sylvan Theatre in 1987.
