Inscription:  (On front of base, top to bottom:) C.S.A./1861-1865 /(Text praising Lancaster's soldiers)/OUR/CONFEDERATE/SOLDIERS (raised) (On back of base, top to bottom:) C.S.A. /1861-1865/ERECTED BY THE WOMEN OF/LANCASTER COUNTY/A D 1909/UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE/LANCASTER CHAPTER/U.D.C. (North and south side of base have additional text) Description:  Confederate soldier in uniform standing at rest on top of a tall base. He wears a hat and holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands, the butt resting near his proper right foot. A pouch hangs diagonally from his proper left shoulder and rests on his proper right hip. The upper part of the front of base is decorated with a relief of a Confederate flag. The mid-section of base has reliefs of laurel wreaths on all sides. The bottom of base is stepped.
