    Description: 
    Full-length standing figure of Christopher Columbus. He is dressed in clothing of his time, with hat, ruffled shirt, and knee-length coat. He stands with his proper left arm on top of globe at his side. He holds a rolled document up to his chest in his proper right hand. He stands on a multitiered base, inscribed with text and relief of sailing ship.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was moved from it original location on the west side of the library to its current location on the east side of the library in 1995. The granite fro the sculpture was quarried from the nearby Sullivan Quarry in Bradford. The red granite base was quarried from Smith's Quarry in Westerly. The sculpture was cut into granite by Mr. Charles Gattoni of the Codori Granite Company from a full sixed plaste rmodel provided by the artist. Nicholas Fazzello sculpted the bas relief of the ship on the front plinth.
