His proper right arm is raised and holds a hammer that he is about to strike down on a horseshoe. In his proper left hand he holds the horseshoe on top of an anvil using a pair of tongs. The anvil rests on an oval base which is inscribed on the front. The sculpture is mounted upon a flat square base and is surrounded by a low iron fence.
