    Remarks:
Flyover was the first major sculpture commissioned by the Dayton Public Arts Commission and is a tribute to Dayton native sons, Orville and Wilbur Wright. The sculpture was funded with a combination of state and federal funds. The project cost $435,000. The abstract nature of the sculpture provoked controversy and design modifications were made prior to its installation. It was dedicated July 4, 1996, as part of Dayton's bicentennial commission.
