The title of the installation derives from the connection it forms between the street and the river. The mound of earth acknowledges the early mound-builders who lived in the Ohio region. Total cost of the installation was $61,000. Title of sculpture was reported variously as "Street Link", "Street-link" and "Street-Link". IAS files contain copy of the City Beautiful Council's brochure "Artists in the Neighborhood", and related articles from Dayton Daily News, June 11 and 16, 1989.
