    Description: 
    Sculpture depicts two bear cubs and a raccoon climbing a tree. One cub sits on a short horizontal branch at the bottom. The second cub is near the top, clinging to the trunk with all four paws. The raccoon stands at the top of the tree.

    Originally commissioned by Jack Edwards, owner of Trent Power Equipment in Merritt, North Carolina. The sculpture was carved with a chain saw. The artist chose bears because of the presence of black bears in Pamlico County. IAS files include a related article from the Pamlico News, Jan. 22, 1992.
