Inscription:  DEDICATED 14 OCTOBER 1909 A TRIBUTE FROM THE CITIZENS OF WALDEN TO THEIR VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT (Above main trough:) WALDEN unsigned Description:  Full-length figure of a uniformed fire fighter stands on a rounded, tapered base. The base has a watering trough in the front and recessed fountains in the rear. The side spigots are cemented over. The figure wears a long coat and hat and holds a child in his proper left arm; an object in his upraised proper right arm.
