Description:  Full-length Victory figure stands on her own pedestal against a rectangular wall. The figure wears Classical robes, sandals, and a helmet. Her proper right hand holds the handle of a downward pointing sword and her proper left hand rests on a shield. The whole work stands on a long, horizontal base with a bench on each side. The base is accessible on each side by a small set of stairs. Subject:  History -- United States -- World War I Mythology -- Classical -- Athena Allegory -- Other -- Triumph Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- New York -- New Rochelle Sculpture Owner:  Faneuil Park, Intersection of Main & Huguenot Streets, New Rochelle, New York Remarks:  Commissioned by the City of New Rochelle, the movement to erect the monument began in Jan. 1919, when the City Council created a citizens' committee to select an appropriate memorial. The cost of $35,500 was raised through public subscription. Angelique Hart Bieldski was the model for Victory.
