Inscription:  unsigned Description:  An abstract sculpture made of galvanized steel bolted into an "M" shape and painted bright red, blue, and yellow. The sculpture is set directly on the ground. Subject:  Abstract -- Geometric Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- New York -- Lake Placid Sculpture Owner:  Administered by Town of North Elba, Village Board of Lake Placid, 301 Main Street, Village of Lake Placid Town Hall, Lake Placid, New York 12946 Located Sewage Treatment Plant, Powerhouse Road, Lake Placid, New York Provenance:  Formerly located Mill Pond Park, Lake Placid, New York Remarks:  Funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $2,090 given in 1978 to the Village of Lake Placid. The sculpture cost $3,000. The sculpture was in honor of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Its original site was controversial, and after being vandalized many times, it was relocated to its current site.
