SPAMPINATO (copyright symbol) 1970 signed Description:  Full-length figure of Christopher Columbus stands on a natural boulder set inside a walled-in basin filled with water. Columbus wears a short tunic, a cape and knee-high boots. He holds a flagpole with flag upright in his proper left hand and a downward pointing sword in his proper right hand. The whole work is installed on a hillside and stands on a triangular, landscaped area with the statue on the wide end of the triangle. The space in front of the sculpture is paved with cobblestones and fieldstones. This space includes three stairs leading to the piece.
