    A full-length portrait of Augustus Theodore Klinkhart depicted in his Civil War uniform. He stands with both hands holding the barrel of his rifle in front of him. His proper left foot is forward.

    Remarks: 
    Augustus Theodore Klinkhart (1839-1925) ordered the monument from Henry E. Nelson of Cherry Valley in July of 1903. The statue was modeled from a photograph of Mr. Klinkhart taken about forty years earlier, when he was in the army. Nearby plaque reads: Wm. H.H. Klinkhart/1869-1955/Caroline Kieckle/His Wife/1878-1973/Helena C. Klinkhardt/1907-1909. For related information see: The Radii, July 16, 1903; Fort Plain Standard, Jan. 22, 1925.
