Description:
A Spanish-American War soldier runs with proper left foot planted on the ground and proper right foot in the air behind him. He carries a rifle in his arms. He is dressed in a wide-brimmed hat tilted to the proper right, a shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and knee-length boots. Foliage is near the back of his proper left foot. The circular bronze base of the
sculpture
is decorated with a leaf design. The
sculpture
is mounted atop a circular stone base with a fluted upper section and a bottom step.

Remarks:
The
sculpture
was funded by $1,000 from the Thomas H. Barber Camp 3, United Spanish War Veterans, and $9,000 from the Broome County Board of Supervisors. The
sculpture
was dedicated on July 14, 1925 during the state encampment of United Spanish War Veterans in
Binghamton
. In 1958, the city moved the
sculpture
