    Description: 
    Two large marble columns stand side by side with stainless steel poles standing approximately one foot higher in front and in back of the proper right column. On top of the front pole is a triangular form that points upwards to the proper left.

    Remarks: 
    The stone part of the sculpture represents the past; the polished stainless steel pole represents man's progressive scientific knowledge through time; the stainless steel sphere represents accumulation of all man's knowledge to the present; and the stainless steel triangular form represents the unknown and the future. IAS files contain transcriptions on adjacent plaque and a flyer from the Museum of Natural History in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Work was commissioned through the Art in Public Places program of the New Mexico Arts Division of the Office of Cultural Affairs.
