    Description: 
    Larger than life-size doughboy soldier standing with his proper left leg forward and his proper right leg extended back supporting his weight. His proper right hand is clenched at his side with the elbow bent slightly. His proper left shoulder and arm are forward. A rifle is held in his proper left hand, pointing diagonally downward and across his extended proper left thigh. His head is turned to the proper left side. His helmet rests upside down on the base to the proper left of his proper left foot. He stands on a natural rock that has a relief plaque depicting an angel in the center, holding an olive branch, surrounding on either side by a soldier.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was dedicated as a memorial to the veterans of World War I by the community of North Arlington. In 1992, Burns Brother located in Jersey City, New Jersey sandblasted, acid washed, applied chemical to oxide bronze, buffed, and sealed the sculpture. IAS files contain written information from the New Jersey Office of Cultural and Environmental Services.
