    Description: 
    A World War I soldier in uniform stands at parade rest. He holds his rifle in his proper right hand, its butt resting on the ground by his proper right foot. To his side he holds his helmet in his proper left hand. Behind him stands an American flag on a pole. He stands atop an inscribed pedestal which protrudes from the lower part of an obelisk, which rises behind the soldier. Atop the obelisk is an eagle with its wings spread, perched on a sphere.

    Remarks: 
    Erected by Englewood and its citizens for the veterans and casualties of World War I. Sculpture was hit by a bus, knocking the base in three, and underwent repairs. IAS files contain transcription of nearby plaque.
