A series of thirteen narrative panels. The main theme depicts the Louisiana Purchase and is above the main entrance to the Capitol building; everything left of center applies to events before the Louisiana Purchase; everything to the right applies to the time following the acquisition. Beginning at the extreme left on the western end of the frieze, the sections are as follows: Aboriginal Indian Prayer to the Rising Sun, Discovery of the
