    Remarks: 
    According to the artist, the vertical shapes of the sculpture suggest the trunk of the tree of knowledge. The horizontal shapes represent branches for enlightenment, the reason for the library's existence. IAS files contain related articles from the Missourian, Aug, 22, 1970; and the Columbia Missourian, Oct. 25, 1991, Weekend section, pg. 10. The Aug. 22nd article in the Missourian refers to the library as the Columbia Public Library while the SOS! survey refers to it as the Daniel Boone Regional Library.
