A barefoot female with shoulder-length hair and a short-sleeved, ankle-length dress, reclines, as if floating. She holds an open book with her proper right arm while a putto sits on her proper left hip and is supported by her proper left hand. The sculpture is mounted on a tiered rectangular base.
