Description:
Memorial consists of two square columns surmounted by a beam cap. In front of this is a shorter column which holds a polished globe depicting the western hemisphere. The memorial rests on a stone base. On either side of the lettering on the cap beam is a relief of an eagle. Below the globe, in a roundel, is a relief of a lion striding forward to the proper left.

Remarks:
The memorial was originally at the Sons of Italy headquarters on Sumner Street (
Milford
); and was relocated and rededicated in Draper Park in April 1974. It was then located at the entrance to Hayward Field at the Italian Veterans Lodge Building (Italian American War Veterans) Post 40, off of Meade Street, before being relocated to its current site.
