CARDEN, AND THE TWO SHIPS JOINED ACTION, A SANGUINARY FIGHT WAS MAINTAINED, WHEN AFTER TWO HOURS, THE MACEDONIAN LOSING HER MIZZEN MAST AND MAIN TOP MAST, BECAME UNMANAGEABLE AND WITH 104 CASUALTIES, OUT OF A TOTAL OF 254, AND MANY OTHER GUNS DISABLED, HAULED DOWN HER COLORS.     Description: 
    The elaborate stone base for "Alexander the Great" (IAS record number: 75005839) is adorned on the front with a bronze relief plaque depicting the capture of the British ship "Macedonian" by the American frigate "United States" on Oct. 25, 1812. Below the relief is an inscription describing the event.
