Inscription:  (Plaque on top left corner of base:) The Conversation/1993/by Roy D. Patterson/commissioned for Saco School department and the citizens of Maine under the Maine Percent for Art Act. unsigned Description:  A female child and female adult sit facing each other. The adult is resting her proper right arm slightly back to her side while her proper left arm is positioned slightly forward. Her proper right leg is bent in front of her and her proper left leg is bent and extended to her proper left side. The child has both legs bent in front of her with her proper left arm resting on her proper left leg. Her proper right arm is against her side and bent slightly at the elbow.
