The sculpture was a bequest of Marie Louise Stevenson. IAS files contain two SOS! surveys for this sculpture. The May 1993 survey says sculpture is painted a flat black color. Undated SOS! survey provided images of the sculpture unpainted and white in coloring. IAS files also contain May 29, 1993 Press Fact Sheet from St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
