    Remarks:
Marion Cemetery was originally known as Highland Cemetery. Judge Riggs was the first lawyer and judge in the Wichita, Kansas area. The monument was erected through the efforts of George Coble, a Marion, Kansas frontiersman and close friend of the judge. Fred Frobenius and J. L. Scott of the Marion Marble and Granite Works were commissioned to design and build the monument. IAS files contain copy of related correspondence from Marion Historical Museum.
