    Description: 
    Figures depicting four stages of the manufacturing process are situated on a steel platform, which is on top of four tall steel pipes, which are bolted to four concrete pedestals set in the ground. On the east corner of the platform, two small and two large figures are holding a dumptruck, while one of the figures, a female, holds a stethoscope to the ore in the truck; according to the artist, this group depicts miners bringing material to a scientist for evaluation. On the west corner, one small and one large figure work with a machine; according to the artist, this group depicts a scientist doing an evaluation with a computer and with the aid of a technician. On the north corner, one small and one large figure wearing welding masks hold large calipers near a welding machine. On the south corner, two figures hand a tractor to a third figure; according to the artist, this group depicts a technician and a laboratory director giving a finished John Deere tractor to a representative of a company.
