Description:
A rectangular relief panel featuring three religious figures and three
Oldenburg
church spires represents the founding of three
Oldenburg
religious institutions, the Sisters of St. Francis parish and church, the St. Franciscan Monastery, and the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Francis. In the center of the relief is a bearded Franciscan monk with his hands raised. To his lower right is a nun and to his lower left is a parish priest. The plaque is mounted on a wall of the Friendship Garden.

Remarks:
The plaque is installed on a wall in the Friendship Garden which was commissioned in 1978 by Bob Dunevant, Director of the
Oldenburg
Bank. The original design for the plaque called for an additional two panels that would portray the trades active in the
Oldenburg
community.
