Inscription:  (On proper right of middle male figure in immigrant family:) K Field 93 (On bronze plaque embedded in base under bench: names of major donors) signed Description:  Two silhouetted figure groups set approximately 30 feet away from each other. The first group consists of an immigrant family of five fragmented figures, caught as if in motion, standing amidst a series of flagpoles. Each gestures upward as if beseeching a new beginning. The second group consists of an elderly woman sitting on a bench with hands crossed in her lap, and a young girl with proper right hand over the women's proper left hand. The elderly woman represents the hardship of the past; the young girl represents the hopefulness of the future. The $65,000 sculpture was funded through donations from community members, organizations and businesses.
