Inscription:  (Base front:) IN MEMORY/OF/ANNIE LOUISE KELLER/WHO SAVED SIXTEEN CHILDREN/SHE SACRIFICED HER/OWN LIFE/WHEN A TORNADO/DEMOLISHED/CENTERVILLE SCHOOL/BUILDING/APRIL 19, 1927 (Side of base inscribed with names of Centerville pupils) unsigned Description:  The base and figures have been carved from the same stone. The three figures, the teacher with her arms around two children, emerge from the base and are depicted waist length. Rev./9/25/87. Conflicting dates given. Although plaque inscription gives dedication date of 1887; date on base inscription is 1927. Inventory cataloger unable to resolve conflict.
