    Description: 
    A fountain with two children, a girl and a boy, standing on stones and facing each other, playing in the water. The girl has pigtails and holds her hands out with her palms down toward the spray to splash the boy. The boy's arms are outstretched for balance, while his proper right leg kicks towards a water lily, from which water sprays. The fountain is set within a brick pool.

    Remarks: 
    The fountain was commissioned by the Spade and Trowell Garden Club, which funded it through book sales. Partial funding was also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The fountain underwent restoration in the fall of 1993 by sculptor Pat Steadman. Nearby plaque reads: Spade and Trowell/Garden Club Fountain/1976/Jesse C. Beesley-Sculptor. IAS files contain a related excerpt from the Statesboro Register (Sept. 1982).
