    Description: 
    A uniformed Confederate soldier stands in repose, holding the barrel of his rifle at chest length with both hands, the butt resting by his proper right foot. He has a beard and wears a broad rimmed hat. The soldier is mounted upon a tall shaft that is set upon a stepped base that once had a ball on each corner.
