A bronze plaque with bust of Albert F. Rockwell, mounted on a granite stele. Rockwell is seen in high-relief, proper left profile over shoulder view, with coat collar and bow tie. He wears a moustache. The bust in encircled by a heavy laurel wreath, with inscription below.

Remarks:
Albert Rockwell (1862-1925) along with his brother founded the New Departure Manufacturing Company, which became a unit of General Motors, and for decades was
Bristol
's leading employer. Rockwell was also active in the civic affairs of
Bristol
and donated to the city the park where his memorial is located. Financing for the $3,000 monument came from the private donations of nearly 2,500 people, with no sum over $10.00 being accepted. The relief plaque was created by the Gorham Company, and Harold I. Arms of Arms Monument Works fashioned the stele and surrounding benches. IAS files contain a news clipping from the
