Description:
Three vertical forms, painted off-white, pivot individually on their axis in an triangular arrangement. The
sculpture
is mounted on a short, brick stepped base surrounded by crushed quartz. The
sculpture
is meant to be lit at night in varied hues.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the State Art in Public Places Program of the
Colorado
Council on the Arts and Humanities, funded by One Percent for Works of Art in Public Places. The
sculpture
cost $40,000, and was part of a renovation project for Cellhouses 1 and 7 of the Correctional Facility. Ralph Taylor assisted in the fabrication of the
sculpture
. After the
sculpture
was installed, the guards found the lights at night were distracting; as a result, lights are turned on only on holidays.
