    A two-dimensional, steel-plate sculpture composed of silhouette style images of animals affixed to and around a half arch. The animals include a squirrel, a deer, a horse, fish, cattle, a rabbit, a dog, and a bird.

    The sculpture cost approximately $385. A sign in front of sculpture reads: THE ARK/1998/A SCULPTURE MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH ARTIST/MENTOR D.E.SHAW AND THE 8TH AND 9TH GRADE/ART STUDENTS OF MR. MITCH WRIGHT./THIS PROJECT WAS SUPPORTED BY BATESVILLE AREA ARTS COUNCIL, THE ARKANSAS ARTS COUNCIL,/BATESVILLE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS. The sculpture is one of two created by the students. (For other sculpture see IAS AR000297). The images reflect the students interests in local wildlife, and the animals were created from the students' drawings. IAS files contain an article from the Batesville Daily Guard, April 22, 1998; and the artist's prospectus for the project.
