    The standing figure of an Old West sheriff wearing a western outfit, including a cowboy hat, boots, and spurs. At his proper right hip he carries a Colt .45 in its holster and in his proper left hand he carries a model 95 Winchester rifle.

    Remarks: 
    The territorial sheriffs helped preserve the peace in Arizona in the early 1900s. Dedicated to present-day workers in the Court, Fire, and Police Departments, this figure symbolizes the courage and moral strength of peace officers, past and present. Figure was commissioned by the Glendale Arts Commission in 1990. IAS files contain description of the process of creating the figure, and text of a nearby plaque.
