Commissioned by
Alaska
One Percent for Art Program for $15,308. Steel Fabricators fabricated the brass numbers, and Discovery Drilling drilled the foundation for the shaft and erected the shaft. The shadow of the shaft falls onto the plaza, and the viewer can tell the time between 8 am and 8 pm. The two wedges are in alignment with the sunrises on the summer and winter solstices.
