    Description: 
    Larger than life-size gilded peanut stands on a two-tiered base. The base tiers are polished on the top and rough-hewn on the sides.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Southtrust Bank as their 1993 Spirit of Service project. The sculpture is based on a drawing by Joe Gayhart. The peanut was chosen because of the economic importance of the peanut crop to the community. IAS files include a related article from the Dothan Progress, May 19, 1993 and photographs of the work in progress.
