    Description: 
    A memorial consisting of six trapezoids encircling a hexagonal pillar with a flagpole on top. On each side of the hexagonal pillar, near the top, are relief emblems of the five branches of the military (Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Coast Guard and Air Force). The sixth side features the seal of Minnesota.

    The memorial is dedicated to the 351 men of Goodhue County who were killed in the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The city provided the first $5,000 as seed money for the $65,000 project. IAS files contain related article from the Red Wing Republican Eagle May 23, 1988.
