    Remarks: 
    Constructed in honor of the Indian Princess for whom the city and county are named. The idea was first conceived by Frank W. Shaw and his father, the late Senator A. J. Shaw, in 1948. The figure was designed by W. C. Ballard and constructed by Marcell Moritz, Lowell Jensen and crew of Pocahontas. SOS! survey lists figure media as wood and fiberglass; newspaper article lists figure media as wood and steel. IAS files contain two unidentified related articles and Smithsonian, (Nov. 1988), pg. 119.
