Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A braided Pocahontas stands, dressed in a simple belted ankle-length dress. She holds her proper left arm to her stomach; her proper right arm extends outward to the side. The idea was first conceived by Frank W. Shaw and his father, the late Senator A. J. Shaw, in 1948. The figure was designed by W. C. Ballard and constructed by Marcell Moritz, Lowell Jensen and crew of Pocahontas. SOS! survey lists figure media as wood and fiberglass; newspaper article lists figure media as wood and steel.
