Description:
The fountain consists of six basins of decreasing diameters rising in pyramidal form. In the center of the top basin is a pedestal decorated with garlands on which stands the nude female figure of Pomona, goddess of abundance holding a basket of fruits. Pomona bends forward, curving toward her right, and steps up with her proper left leg. Giant horns of plenty flank the fountain on both sides.

Remarks:
Funded by a 50,000 dollar bequest of Joseph Pulitzer. Monument committee: executors of the Pulitzer Estate. Thomas Hastings designed the fountain.

's two-foot model and Isidore Konti slightly modified it. Orazio Piccirilli designed the horns of plenty. Inscription on nearby plaque reads: The Restoration of/Grand Army Plaza/and/The Pulitzer Fountain/was made possible through the efforts of/The Central Park Conservancy/The Grand Army Plaza/Pulitzer Fountain Partnership/Chairman/Leonard A.
