    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was created as part of an International Sculpture Symposium, organized by local sculptor Mel Fowler to commemorate the United States Bicentennial. Twenty-three sculptors were invited to participate. The sculptures were originally installed at Veterans Park (Myrtle & Main Streets). Because they were subject to vandalism over the years, they were moved in 1987 to their current site at Liberty Hill High School. IAS files contain transcription of a nearby plaque which provides biography of Mel Fowler and gives history of the sculpture garden.
    IAS files also contain related articles from The Independent dated April 25, 1991, pg. 7-14 and July 11, 1991, pg. 9; a pamphlet "International Sculpture Garden," Liberty Hill, TX: Liberty Hill High School, n.d.; and excerpt from Bette Redman Reichman, ed., "Sculpture in Austin," Austin, TX: University of Texas at Austin, College of Fine Arts, 1989, pg. 17. The 1993 SOS! survey reports that the sculpture appears to have been recently sanded or cleaned.
