Each sculpture: approx. H. 10 ft. Diam 12 ft. Each base: 35 x 15 x 12 ft. (7 tons each). Description:  A seahorse supporting an openwork armillary sphere is installed on each of the four stone pylons on the bridge. Subject:  Object -- Other -- Globe Animal -- Fish -- Seahorse Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Pennsylvania -- Pittsburgh Sculpture Owner:  Administered by County of Allegheny, Maintenance, 1520 Penn Avenue, Penn Liberty Plaza, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15222 Located Sixteenth Street, at the Allegheny River, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Remarks:  The bronze seahorses and armillary spheres were not in place at the time of the bridge dedication. Because they were too large to fit on a railroad car, they had to be shipped separately from foundry in Kentucky. Two were shipped by truck and two by water.
