Description:
A seahorse supporting an openwork armillary sphere is installed on each of the four stone pylons on the bridge.

Remarks:
The bronze seahorses and armillary spheres were not in place at the time of the bridge dedication. Because they were too large to fit on a railroad car, they had to be shipped separately from foundry in Kentucky. Two were shipped by truck and two by water.
