Inscription:  (On front of plinth, incised letters:) ARMSBY (Plaque on front of base:) JAMES H. ARMSBY M.D./(transcription illegible) Description:  A twice life-size bust of James H. Armsby, with moustache and beard. The bust is mounted on a base consisting of a rectangular column with a decorated capitol and a lower rectangular, tiered section. Armsby, co-founder of Albany Medical College and Hospital. The bust was cast in Paris. In 1967, the bust was knocked over by a car and reassembled by Parks Department staff. The plaque may have been replaced incorrectly.
