Remarks:
The sculpture is the focal point of the American Prairie Exhibit and was given to the zoo by Galey Coleman as a memorial to her late husband Sheldon Coleman. The bronze plaque attached to the wall behind the bears gives recognition to the majors donors who gave $15,000 or more to the new exhibit. IAS files contain the transcription of the dedication plaque and the dimensions of the three bears. IAS files also contain an article from the Sedgwick County Zoo Newsletter dated May/June 1993.
