    Description: 
    Heron, made of twisted wire cable, painted white and supported by steel armature. The bird stands on a low base, enclosed by a low fence on the end of dock. Its head is thrown back and its beak is raised to the sky.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was exhibited at Pier 26 in Tribeca, June 1992, as part of a show sponsored by the River Project, an environmental group working to clean up the Hudson River and bring herons back to the area. It was also shown as part of the artist's solo exhibition at the Meisner Soho Gallery, New York, June 19 to July 1, 1992. Christopher Solbert did the welding. IAS files contain related articles from the East Northport Community News, Newsday, Jan. 11, 1987 and April 29, 1990 and the Long Islander, May 28, 1992.
