Description:
Two cowboys mounted on horses, symbolizing the solid friendship of the old west and the comradery of the Range Riders. The two horses have their heads down and are walking up a rocky slope. The cowboys both wear brimmed hats and chaps. The cowboy on the proper right points to the right with his proper right hand.

was commissioned by the Pikes Peak Range Riders for $165,000. The
sculpture
is on loan to the City of Colorado Springs through Dec. 16, 2007. IAS files contain related articles from Gazette Telegraph (Colorado Springs, CO) March 27, 1989, pg. D1; Aug. 12, 1988, pg. D1; and July 19, 1987, pg. B7. Inscription on nearby plaque reads: "Empty Saddles"/These range riders no longer on this earth do ride./They now follow new trails beyond the great divide./Where the water's sweeter and the grass grows higher./And the way is so easy that man or mountain never tire. (52 bronze plates for names of deceased riders.)
