Remarks:
Funded through the Maine Percent for Art Program. The placement of the children in the tree is symbolic of their reading or meditating, with the increase in height of the climbing students symbolic of the increased perspective greater knowledge brings. The green pigmentation of the sculpture is symbolic of the symbiotic relationship of students and knowledge and growth of tree. IAS files contain a copy of the Percent for Art contract and text on nearby plaque.
