Salamunich spoke in numerous articles from the late 1930s of his self proclaimed masterpiece of a huge statue of Beethoven he made for author/biographer Emil Ludwig last known to be in Capri at Ludwig's villa. Salamunich also did a full head of Beethoven on a stone base for the Warner Brothers film "Humoresque" (1946) with Joan Crawford . In 1941 he produced a bust of Joan Crawford which she kept for life and used it in the film "Straight Jacket" 20 years later.
