    (On bronze tablet on front of stele:) TO COMMEMORATE THOSE WHO AT THE CALL OF THEIR COUNTRY, LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR,/ENDURED HARDSHIPS, FACED DANGER, AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF SIGHT/OF MEN BY THE PATH OF DUTY AND SACRIFICE, GIVING UP/THEIR LIVES THAT OTHERS AMY LIVE IN FREEDOM./LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THEIR NAMES BE NOT FORGOTTEN./BY THE CITIZENS' MEMORIAL COMMITTEE/AND SOLDIERS' AND SAILORS' MEMORIAL COMMITTEES/OF THE AMERICAN LEGION, VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS/AND JEWISH VETERANS OF THE WARS OF THE REPUBLIC./COMPRISING LOCAL BOARDS 82 TO 88. (The names of the Brownsville men who died during the war are inscribed on two panels on front of the stele.)
    Description: 
    A large stele in the center of which is a relief panel depicting Winged Victory as she walks across mountain tops. She holds a sword up over her head with her proper right hand and a shield out behind her with her proper left hand. The side panels of the stele are inscribed with the names of Jewish-American war veterans. The stele is installed at the top of two sets of low steps. At the top of the second set of steps there is a medallion of a jewish star on the left and a medallion of an eagle on the right.
