Vestiges, (sculpture). Artist:  Royce, sculptor. Title:  Vestiges, (sculpture). Dates:  Installed 1993. Digital Reference:  Medium:  Basalt and granite. Dimensions:  Overall: approx. 8 x 20 x 20 ft. (30 tons). Description:  An abstract sculpture consisting of columns of basalt and granite arranged in a 20 foot diameter hexagon. Three of the columns are their implied original height, and the other three are in varying states of ruin. The two columns facing Main Street are bridged by a lintel stone with the implication that similar stones joined the original six columns (a fallen lintel is leaning against another column). Short columns are placed between the main six columns to complete the circle. In the circle center is a source stone which continuously overflows from within (approx. 25 gallons per day). The surrounding area has been landscaped.
